TEZANOU Paul was born on 30 May 1953 in Lingam. He is married and has nine children. Since 1975, he is the founder and director of the Centre for Young Blind People in Dschang (CJAD).
In October 1987, he founded the African Union of the Blind in Tunisia. From 1988 to 1996, he was the Regional Representative of the African Union of the Blind People for Central Africa. In May 2005, he was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the African Decade of Persons with Disabilities; between 2000 and 2008, he was elected President of the African Union of the Blind in Addis-Ababa, and then, Representative of the World Blind Union for Africa. In November 2012, he was President of the African Union of the Blind for the Central African sub-region, elected in Thailand in Bangkok. From September 2021 to January 2013, he was President of the General Assembly of the Inclusive Society of Persons with Disabilities platform. Further to his above-mentioned functions, he has been President of the National Association of the Blind in Cameroon (ANAC) since 1985 and President of the Union Francophone des Aveugles (UFA) in Paris since 2015. He was appointed since February 2021, a member of the Cameroon Human Rights Commission (CHRC).
