CHRC CHAIRPERSON DISCUSSES FUTURE AREAS OF COLLABORATION ON ISSUES OF HUMAN RIGHTS IN CAMEROON WITH THE CANADIAN HIGH COMMISSIONER*
*Professor James MOUANGUE KOBILA,* the Chairperson of the Cameroon Human Rights Commission received in audience *H.E. Madam Lorraine ANDERSON,* the Canadian High Commissioner to Cameroon, this Wednesday 12 April 2023.
The audience was a courtesy visit to discuss the possibilities of working together for the promotion and Protection of Human Rights in Cameroon.
The CHRC Chairperson presented the Commission and its mandate, highlighting the launch and operation of the CHRC’s toll-free number 1523. He also made mention of the successful relationship between some objective Civil Society Organizations that work hand in glove with the Commission in upholding its missions.
On her part, H.E. Lorraine ANDERSON said _“her interest is particularly in the promotion of women’s rights and that of young girls, as concerning the aspect of early marriages and also the access to Justice in Cameroon”_
Prof. James MOUANGUE KOBILA greatly welcomed the possibility of collaboration between the CHRC and the Canadian High Commission in upholding Human Rights in Cameroon.
The audience which lasted an hour ended with group pictures and media interview.
