Visit to Places of Deprivation of Liberty in the North West Region
On Tuesday, 29th and Thursday, 31st October 2024, the North West Regional Branch Office of the Cameroon Human Rights Commission (CHRC), effected inspection visits to five (5) places of deprivation of liberty in Bamenda II and III Sub Divisions, Mezam Division, namely :
• Judicial Police Station Bamenda, created 1972,
• Gendarmerie Brigade Ntabessi, Nkwen, created 2015,
• Gendarmerie Brigade Researche Mile 4 Nkwen, created 2001,
• 2nd District Public Security Police Station Mile 4 Nkwen, created 2002, and
• Emmaus Centre for the Mentally disabled Bamenda, created in 2005.
The findings of the Regional Branch Office are contained in its weekly activity report for the period Monday, 28th October to Friday, 1st November 2024.
