SOME NEWLY APPOINTED OFFICIALS AT THE CAMEROON HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION (CHRC) HAVE BEEN INSTALLED INTO OFFICE BY THE PERMANENT SECRETARY OF THE COMMISSION
Following the appointments of Ms. NGANDO NTU ELLO Beatrice Félicité as the Regional Branch Head for the South Region, Ms. MENYIE ONDOUA Marthe as the Regional Branch Head for the North Region, Mr. AGBOR NKENG ETENGENENG as the Regional Branch Head for the North West Region and Mr. DJON Thomas Bertrand as Chief of Reception, Mail and Liaison Service on Wednesday 17 May 2023, they were installed into office by thePermanent Secretary on Friday 16 June 2023.These staff members were formerly respectively, Chief of Reception, Mail and Liaison Service, Senoir Staff Member at Regional Branch for the North Region, Senoir Staff at Regional Branch for the West Region and Senoir Staff member at the General Affairs Service.
The two female branch heads, Ms. NGANDO NTU ELLO Beatrice Félicité, and Ms. MENYIE ONDOUA Marthe, have added to the lone female Regional Branch Head in the West Region, making a total of three female Regional Branch Heads currently managing the branches of the CHRC in the Regions. Aside from these dynamic female staff members, some other meritorious male staff members were equally appointed to greater responsibilities. They include Mr. AGBOR NKENG ETENGENENG and Mr. DJON Thomas Bertrand.
Representing Prof. James MOUANGUE KOBILA, Chairperson of the CHRC, was Mr ABOUEM ESSEBA Jean Pierre, Permanent Secretary of the CHRC, who in his speech, encouraged these newly appointed staff members to be diligent while carrying out their responsibilities, bearing in mind that these appointments are on merit, after evaluation. The Permanent Secretary also instructed them to work in synergy with their collaborators in their various areas of competence as well as to act in accordance with all the instructions given to them by hierarchy. They were equally requested to submit all reports of the activities carried out in the regions, including with diplomatic missions, international organisations, and non-governmental organisations. The Permanent Secretary went further to urge the energetic ladies to be of good conduct while addressing human rights violations and to be aware of the fact that they should uphold the image of the Commission and its mandates in the regions.
The newly appointed officials expressed their deepest gratitude for the great opportunity granted to them by Prof. James MOUANGUE KOBILA, Chairperson of the CHRC and promised to take up their duties seriously. The ceremony ended with taking of pictures, exchange of well wishes from colleagues and family members.
