Visit to Places of Deprivation of Liberty in the North West Region

In the frame work of the Cameroon Human Rights Commission’s visit to detention centers twice a week, the North West Regional Branch Office of the Cameroon Human Rights Commission (CHRC), effected field visits to seven (7) places of deprivation of liberty in Bamenda I, II and III Sub Divisions, Mezam Division to:
– Gendarmerie Company Mezam,
– Gendarmerie Brigade Mendankwe,
– Gendarmerie Brigade Ntambessi Nkwen
– Judicial Police Station Bamenda
– Central Public Security Police Station Bamenda,
– Bamenda Regional Hospital Mental Health Unit, and
– Bamenda Central Prison.
The findings of the Regional Branch Office are contained in the weekly activity report for the period
2nd to 5th January 2024.
